Stella Rimington

Stella worked for the Security Service for 27 years in counter-subversion, counter-espionage and counter-terrorism becoming a director of all three branches. In 1992, Stella became the first woman to be appointed Director General of MI5 and the first Director General to be publicly named. She retired from MI5 in 1996.
Stella has been a Non-Executive Director of both Marks & Spencer and BG Group. Previously, she was Chairman of the Institute of Cancer Research and a Trustee of the Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Trust. At CPS, she uses her significant background and boardroom experience to support senior executives, in both the private and public sectors, who currently sit on a board or as they take up a first board appointment.
